EZIaccounts - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I ??..

  • Q. install EZIaccounts on a standard Windows based Web Hosting Account?
    A. EZIaccounts can be installed on any server that you wish with no limitations provided they can run win32 applications.
  • Q. find out the amount of space would I need for a typical installation?
    A. EZIaccounts requires to run is :
    1. PWS or IIS : (10meg), Abyss web server : (500k)
    2. EZIaccount application files : (7meg)
    3. Data : The size of data files can vary from a basic business data of around 2meg (per annum) to manufacturing with complete inventory, bill of materials and documents of around 15meg (per annum)
    4. Windows Internet Explorer Browser 6 (Recommended)
  • Q. host it on the net?
    A. This can also be done from your own machine using a dedicated ISP number provided by your service provider or via a Win32 hosting service provider.
  • Q. Could I give "field technicians" access to produce Quotes etc and print onsite
    A. Yes. EZIaccounts can be accessed from anywhere in the world via the web with their own username and password.
  • Q. restrict/block access to areas?
    i.e User1 can do everything, User2 can only produce Quotes, Orders or Invoices.
    A. Yes, There is an option of setting access by either Main Password or setting Staff to areas with Username and Password :- 
    Areas M 1 2 3 Document, Sales Codes, Misc, Components, ReportsAreas M 1 2

  • Q. add a company logo invoices?
    Yes. you can add mutiple "Site" Logos of your choice as well as your Main Logo.
  • Q. import my existing data file from MYOB or Quicken?
    Unfortunately Not yet, we are currently working on a conversion program for this procedure but you can contact us for EZIaccounts file structures.
  • Q. upgrade from Business to Manufacturing?
    Yes and its as simple as a click of a button. EZIaccounts is "module driven" and upgrading will not overwrite previous data files but will require to purchase a New-registration code.
    Please note: If listing your site on the World Wide Web we reccommend that you do not use windows PWS for hosting.

    How do I ??..

  • Q. Switch Quote/ Order Images on or off ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" enter your password, select "Images T/F"
  • Q. Commit and Recieve Goods ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" enter your password, select "Commit Goods T/F" and enter T
    Note : This will then process and allow recieved goods to be added to files.
  • Q. Update prices for a supplier ?
    A. Select "Payables" from the main menu, click 'Increase', select the Supplier Code you wish to update.
    Enter in which option you wish to update.
    Either by 'Location' or 'Code' - the first two letters of components eg: NC.
    Enter percentage of increase from the old percentage. (eg: current 120% enter 5% = 125%).
    A new percentage will be created in file for all requirements. (cost and retail prices).
  • Q. Begin G.S.T. ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" enter your password, select "G.S.T. T/F" and enter T
    Note : This will then process and display ALL G.S.T. functions.
  • Q. Reverse Invoices ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" enter your password, select "Reverse Invoices T/F" and select T
    Note : This will then dispay the option when selecting "Convert".
  • Q. Change how many days of records to keep ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" enter your password, select "keep records- (days)" and enter the amount of required days held before deletion from 'Last period'.
    Note : Records from 'Last period' to 'End period' are always kept.
  • Q. Change the Logo ?
    A. You can either edit the "logo.bmp" or replace it with your own located in folder...
    Your_Install_Folder\ezi\images\logo.bmp Note: bmp size can be no greater than 100*250 pixels as this will effect page layout.
    When replacing ensure that you rename your file to logo.bmp
  • Q. Use my own printed letterhead ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" enter your password and select "Logo & Heading", select F and submit
    This will remove the current Logo and Heading.
  • Q. Change the message on Invoices ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" edit the "number" of the bmp file that you wish to be displayed.
    To remove the message enter 0.
    You can edit the "1. 2. 3. 4. or 5. "bmp files located at Your_Install_Folder\ezi\images\
    Note: If editing and creating your own DO NOT alter the bmp height or width.
  • Q. Change the password ?
    A. From your EZIaccounts Menu page select the 'Main Details' link.
    Enter the password 'lloyd' and select 'password main' enter your new password and submit.
    Clear and enter your new password for all future editing of MAIN Details.
  • Q. Change or Check my page size settings.
    A. Click the printer icon on the front cover EZIaccounts and follow instructions in popup window.
  • Q. Download Updates ?
    A. To download the most recent program files you need to click on huose icon on front cover and when the popup appears select and click the link the main menu and save it to your "temp" or "my documents" folder.
    Once downloaded double click on "EZIaccounts_X.exe" and the setup wizard will guide you through the installation process.
  • Q. Stop the history in form fields ?
    A. In your Internet Browser select "tools" re "Internet Options". Under the heading of "Content" re "Personal Information" click on "auto complete", deselect "forms" and select "clear forms". Click "OK".
  • Q. Change the printout details of Bill Of Materials ?
    A. Enter into company file which "excluding" BOM = "exlBOM" that are not required for printing.
    (first character of location is required Eg:-"G" = Glass).
  • Q. Change the default Color in forms ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" edit Default Color. eg: Color Select WH
  • Q. Add a Color in forms ?
    A. Via 'Restrictions', select "color" click on the submit button to view current colors.
    From the drop down menu choose "create new color" enter new code, description and submit.
  • Q. Change the delay for quoting. ?
    A. Via "MAIN details" edit Quote Delay. (seconds) eg: Delay 30
  • Q. Change the Title on my browser. ?
    A. Go to 'Start'...'Run'...type in 'regedit' click OK.
    Locate 'Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main'.. Right click on .'Window Title'...and modify to what you would like....and close.
    Note: Editing your registry can effect how your system operates.
    Please leave to someone who knows if you are not sure.
    The "title" will not effect anything on your machine.
